Lesser-known expired domains markets.

words on wooden scrabble tiles

Here are some lesser-known websites where you can buy expired domains through auctions. I have used some of these, and as always, it is smart thing to be ahead of the game, and do things other SEO monkeys are not doing.

Why? Because you get better prices and offers others are skipping.

I will not talk about markets we all know about (GoDaddy, SEDO, Dynadot, DropCatch, DomainHunterGatherer, Namejet, NAME.COM, Namecheap/Namesilo), only the ones you might never heard about.

If I missed any market, do let me know and I will make sure to add it.

  1. UK Backorder (ukbackorder.uk). Now, this site has been a revelation to me. I have been browsing it for a couple of months, but I have yet to make any acquisitions. Not because there aren’t great auctions, but because I was too lazy to pursue some great names. Those could have been some top traffic sources
  2. Another .CO.UK related site is Domain Lore. I did bought domains here already. It is a funny looking site, down to Earth feeling while you are there, not too many sites at offer at any giving time, but I really like it. Takes me back to late 90s, early 00s with its design. I think internet should have more of these, laid back, privatelly owned sites. They also have SEO expired domains section.
  3. Third one is a French answer to domain auctions. The name is KIFDOM. It comes with a bigger list of expired domains for sale, maybe some 10K plus at any given moment. I have not bought anything there since these are .FR domains I usually do not need. But if you are doing SEO for French market you might find some gold nuggets here.
  4. PorkBun is a place that might up their game a little bit and add some MOZ or SEMRush data for each domain. I have yet to create an account there, and I probably won’t do so unless they add more filters for domain search They do have Age and Revenue filter, though I am not sure which Revenue are they reffering to.
  5. Gname.com is an auction platform that specializes in a variety of domain extensions, including both popular and niche TLDs. It is owned by a Chinese company and it can be a little bit overwhelming for someone new in this game. Especially if you are tight with your budget. GNAME has accounts with services like Snapnames, Dropcatch, and Dynadot for bidding on backordered domains. So, if you are bidding on DropCatch and there is a nickname that always wins auctions (“first1” at DropCatch comes to my mind), this might be a user controlled by GNAME. So, basically, you open account with GNAME and they place bids in your name at other sites. Sites is very popular in China. You need to pre-pay in order to Backorder or Bid, so pay attention.

I hope this helps. I also hope GoDaddy Buy Now domains will be back at ExpiredDomains.net filters.
