I’ve been in the SEO game for a long time, I don’t even know how long, but I do know that it’s still very exciting when I outsmart Google. I will not talk now about the ways that can put you on the first place on Google, but I know that SEMRush has always helped me a lot in this work. Especially in expired domains business. How? Well, they have History search in their Guru Plan where you can see what was certain domain ranking for before it expired.
This is not a promotion, no one is paying me to promote SMERush, nor do they need my promotion.
But, the question is still often asked on forums and social networks: “Which one is better SEMRush or MOZ, or AHrefs…”
SEMRush has been my go-to tool for the last 8 years and here are just a few reasons why:
- Comprehensive Keyword Research: SEMRush’s keyword research tool is second to none. It gives you access to a massive database of keywords, as well as important metrics like search volume, competition, and keyword difficulty (which helped me find some great KWs to rank easily). You can also see what your competitors are ranking for, which is incredibly helpful when you’re trying to outrank them. If you are not using Google Keyword Planner, this is a great alternative.
- In-Depth Site Audits: SEMRush’s site audit tool is incredibly powerful. It can help you identify technical SEO issues on your site, as well as provide recommendations for how to fix them. This is a great way to ensure that your site is optimized for search engines and is performing at its best.
- Backlink Analysis: While SEMRush might not be as strong in this area as some of their competitors like Ahrefs or Majestic, they still offer a great backlink analysis tool. You can see what sites are linking to your site, as well as important metrics like domain authority and page authority.
- Competitor Analysis: One of the things I love most about SEMRush is their competitor analysis tools. You can see what keywords your competitors are ranking for, what their backlink profile looks like, and even get insights into their advertising strategy.
- Local SEO: SEMRush’s local SEO tools are some of the best in the business. You can track your local rankings, analyze your local competitors, and even get recommendations for how to improve your local SEO efforts. If you are after local SEO results you probably noticed they included Local results in KW rankings lately.
- Content Marketing: While SEMRush might not be the best tool for content marketing specifically, they do offer some great features that can help you with your content strategy. For example, you can use their content analyzer tool to see how well your content is performing, as well as get recommendations for how to improve it.
- PPC Advertising: SEMRush’s PPC advertising tools are incredibly helpful for anyone running paid search campaigns. You can do keyword research for PPC campaigns, analyze your competitors’ ad strategies, and even get recommendations for how to improve your ad copy and targeting.
- Social Media Marketing: SEMRush’s social media marketing tools are also very impressive. You can track your social media performance, analyze your competitors’ social media strategies, and even schedule and publish social media posts directly from the SEMRush platform.
- Reporting: SEMRush’s reporting tools are some of the best in the business. You can create custom reports for clients or stakeholders, and even automate your reporting process to save time.
SEMRush offers three plans: Pro, Guru, and Business.
The Pro plan is great for individuals or small businesses who are just getting started with SEO. It offers access to all of SEMRush’s core features, including keyword research, site audits, backlink analysis, and competitor analysis. However, it does have some limitations, such as a smaller number of reports per day and fewer projects.
The Guru plan is the most popular plan, and for good reason. It offers everything in the Pro plan, plus additional features like historical data access, branded reports, and extended limits for projects and reports. This plan is great for medium-sized businesses or agencies who need more advanced features and reporting capabilities.
Finally, the Business plan is designed for larger enterprises or agencies who need even more advanced features and reporting capabilities. It offers everything in the Guru plan, plus additional features like API access, Google Data Studio integration, and custom keyword databases.
IMO, the Guru plan is the best value for most businesses. It offers all of SEMRush’s core features, plus additional advanced features like historical data access and branded reports. Plus, with extended limits for projects and reports, you can do more with the Guru plan than you can with the Pro plan.
