Just this morning I am sitting at one of the river boats on Sava river(known as Spalvs), here in Belgrade, drinking a cup of freshly squeezed beverage with a friend of mine and we are discussing good rates given by Trivago Affiliate program. The rate for US lead (or click-out as they call it) is EUR 0.85 which is just around $1. Which is good, you must agree, if you are in travel affiliate niche.

They have different rates for different countries. For example they pay only EUR 0.18 for Portugal click-out. Click-out is a click produced from a lead that came to their site via your affiliate link. So, our conversation was going towards this topic>” How come they can afford to pay $1 for each US lead(click-out).”

Knowing the rates at HotelsCombined this did not make sense and we were wondering if they are earning or losing with our click-outs. We didn’t wait too long to get our answer…

Just now I got informed by a colleague of mine that trivago Affiliate Suite will be shut down on March 31st, 2018. On April 1st ( this is not an April fools joke ) , 2018 Trivago will generate the last credit note with the pending balance of the previous months with estimated payment 30 days later.

If you are with Trivago and not working with some of the other programs such as Hotels Combined or Booking I suggest you open accounts with them and start sending traffic their way. Any traffic you send to Trivago after April 1st will not be counted.

Surprise? trivago

Serbian national air carrier, Air Serbia, was first established some 90 years ago under Aeroput, later (in 1947) rebranded into Jugoslovenski aero-transport, later Jat Airways and now is known as Air Serbia. Since 1947 all the way to 2013 company used JAT (short from Jugoslovenski aero-transport ) as their brand name. In 2013, the company was privatized and Etihad bought 49% of shares.

Company website was also jat.com (since 1997) until they switched to airserbia.com

I personally got interested in domain jat.com since they redirected jat.com to their new site and I had the feeling that they really didn’t care that much about that nice 3 letter domain. I tried to get in touch with a person that registered the domain but never got an answer. the person listed on domain WHOIS data was IT engineer in Air Serbia.

In 2015 I sent an Email to that IT Infrastructure Engineer expressing my interest in domain (JAT.COM) without any expectation. I basically wanted to check if they plan to sell it or not. In case they plan to drop the domain I would just place a backorder and wait. I honestly did not expect that IT guy wouldn’t know anything about it but I also kindly asked him to point me to the right person in case he is not the man in charge. I never got any reply.

So I thought to myself, there are 3 options:

– They are not selling domain (of course)

– IT guy couldn’t care less about answering Email

– Someone hacked his Email account and he is using other Email account now.

Why did I think it may be hacked? Well, when I searched for his name one of the first results was a page about spam. His Email was associated with spam activity on 60 web sites. This is according to cleantalk.org

But I forgot about this domain and decided to just check out the status once in a while.

Fast forward to 2017, exactly March 2017. This is the month when JAT.COM domain was due for a renewal. But that renewal never happened and someone “caught” domain and this was done by a person in Singapore. At least that’s what new WHOIS data says.

I was shocked, to say the least. Why on Earth did they never answer my mail, and now all of a sudden they decided to drop this valuable domain? If you don’t know the value of such a nice 3 letter .COM domain let me tell you that floor price for 3 letter .COMs are in $20,000 range. But when you have such a nice looking, even pronounceable, 3 letter domain…the sky is the limit. But $50,000 is guaranteed.

Besides this value there is also SEO value for this domain since it is very old domain with a lot of high quality backlinks.

If we just put aside $50K-$100K price tag and SEO value, the biggest value is the brand protection and history of the company. They flushed company history down the drain because they didn’t pay $15 yearly renewal.

If you ever owned a domain you know that you get numerous Emails from registrar (company where you register a domain) where they remind you that you need to pay a renewal fee. They send at least 5 of these Emails to contact that was used to register domain. This is where (again) I think that Email used as contact was not used anymore within Air Serbia company since it was either hacked or/and neglected/changed.

And now, the shocker.

If losing valuable domain wasn’t enough they made another mistake. They decided to file for WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) arbitration. WIPO is not an organization that is going to fall for fancy lawyers and stupid excuses. Looks like Air Serbia thought they will.

The new owner of JAT.COM is a random person from Singapore (at least that’s what it says in WHOIS data) but it could also be a Chinese person who is into domaining. That random person never used JAT.COM especially not in bad faith. A blank Coming Soon type of landing page pointing to a hosting company is there and that is all. They are not selling domain and they are not using domain in bad faith.

Air Serbia hired a team of lawyers ( Zivko Mijatovic & Partners ) to represent them at WIPO. If these lawyers wanted to be fair and if (as they say on their site) were experts in IP and Domain protection they would know that they will lose this case.

To succeed, Air Serbia had to prove all of the below:

(i) the disputed domain name is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark in which the Complainant has rights;

(ii) the Respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in respect of the disputed domain name; and

(iii) the disputed domain name has been registered and is being used in bad faith.

The only thing Air Serbia managed to prove is that :”… disputed domain name is confusingly similar to the Complainant’s trademark” Well, of course it is, since your name (or rather old name) is JAT.

Other than that they did nothing and submitted random arguments that I won’t be writing about here since entire case is laughable (you can read the decision here).

One of the main arguments in this case was that JAT is a known company name and unregistered trademark. The thing with JAT is that company changed the name and dropped domain and it is not known worldwide. The other thing is that (and in my eyes the most important fact) this is a 3 letter domain. Here is what WIPO said about it:

…the Panel considers that it is entirely possible to contemplate a good faith use of a three character domain name, such as the disputed domain name, which does not in any way target the Complainant’s rights. It has long been recognized that such domain names may be capable of multiple uses

If we look at some similar cases (let us take BMW as an example) where registrant registered domain(s) in bad faith (for example domain B.MW) for sole purpose of selling it to either Complainant (in that case Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) or someone else it was easy for WIPO to order that the disputed domain name is transferred to the Complainant.

Here is a little suggestion

Treat domains as you treat your property, because domains are property. Hire people that understand domains, their value and how are they registered. Do not place your company history into the hands of IT engineer. Do not hire morons!

As for Air Serbia, I suggest you this:

1. Find out how exactly did domain expire

2. Which Email account was used as WHOIS contact in the first 3 months of 2017.

3. If Email account that was used as contact is still alive check Inbox/Outbox messages from January-March 2017 (and previous months if needed)

4. Hire a person (domain broker) that will get in touch with current domain owner.

Wendy Dessler

How are you doing?

Thanks for your intro mail:

Hi there,

I enjoyed your article where you talk about guest posting here: http://nenadseo.com/new-seo/. So much so that I added it to my Flipboard magazine here, as it’s a really great fit and I’m sure our followers will find it a great read!

Last month, I published a 7000 word guide on the best Guest Posting Sites for 2017 and I think it would make a great addition to your article.

Would you consider adding a link to it?

I realize that it is a pain to go in and change the article so I’d like to attempt to return the favor: I am building this huge resource list of Best Blogs To Follow in 2017 and I’d be happy to include your blog as well!

Let me know if you’re interested and we can give it a go!

Best,

and the next one

Hi,

Just checking in – wanted to make sure you got my email.

Thank you,

Wendy Dessler

and the one after that.

Hi,

I hope all is well.

I’m guessing you’re not too interested in my initial request to be included in my resource list in exchange for including a link to my article about List of 700+ Guest Posting Sites for 2017, but I’d still love to collaborate on some content with you.

Would you be interested in reviewing and potentially publishing an article geared towards evolving SEO trends or the tool stack that is preferable for doing optimized SEO?

Let me know – thanks!

Wendy Dessler

I wanted to check who is this Wendy Dessler that keeps bothering me so I searched around for her.

What I found was mostly boring stuff like SEO, Link Building, Outreach, Networking and Guest Posting.

The most interesting part of my search was when I decided to visit your Twitter profile and saw this image

The @outreachmama team hard at work building links pic.twitter.com/KnW0DHYque

Now, I am not sure which one of those 3 girls is Wendy Dessler, because whenever I search for Wendy I end up with this image

My guess is that two geeky girls are definitely not Wendy, especially since the one at the back is into skateboards (notice Santa Cruz decal on laptop) and both of these girls look alike. Looking at the picture above, I cant imagine that carrot-haired girl on skateboard.

The girl sitting behind the desk might be Wendy, maybe she decided to change the color of her hair…I dont know. Different nose and eyebrows.

But my guess is that I am not being contacted by a girl called Wendy Dessler.

Hmm…I dont know, looking at that Twitter post again I am sure these 3 girls are not located anywhere in North America ( they say they are located in Chicago, Illinois, United States )and by the looks of the doors and furniture I would say they are somewhere in Eastern Europe . Which is fine, you know, I am also there, but why constant SPAM?

Wendy said she is from OutreachMama SEO agency and this is posted on their About page

If someone is not answering your unwanted mails and you keep sending them….it does sounds like SPAM to me.

But,I still cant figure out who is Wendy Dessler, so I searched more. And in one of her Emails she said she is ready to give me a spot in her blog post at Altitude something

AltitudeBranding, thats right. So, the women in that picture doesn’t look like Wendy I know. Her face and hair are totally different, so I thought to myself…no, it cant be, she is iStock Blogger !!

Oh my God, she cant be, she sounds so natural, no south Asian accent, no nothing.

Oh damn, i really wanted her to be a real person. I already felt like there is some chemistry,…she did contacted me 3 times even though I never answered. I really want to be popular in SEO community. I am all in if she wants that Guest Post on my site, but she needs to prove she is THAT women. In internet marketing and SEO community there is a good old Shoe-On-A-Head process to prove your identity. Basically, when a person claims that she/he is a certain person but nobody trust her/him, they upload their image holding item of footwear on their head.

Something like this

or this

or…

and a last one.

There you have it.

You want a link on my site? No problem, prove that you are legit. So easy your 3 year old sister can do it. Prove me you are Wendy Dessler and I will give you, not one, not 2, but FIVE links.

No article writing required, it is risk free because you cant buy these in stores! This is a rare, limited-time, one time deal opportunity!

Act fast because a backlink from Nenad SEO is worth its weight in gold.

We decided to go there today cause we were kinda bored and we thought there wont be a lot of people since it is Monday. Oh boy, we were wrong, sooo wrong.

Parking lot was full of cars, but we felt so privileged and lucky to see the yellow sign IKEA, now we can die feeling whole and complete… I mean, right after we try famous IKEA meatballs and take a sip of non-alcoholic beverage (free refill).

OK, so we finally find a parking space and go to furniture heaven. Entering IKEA, first thing we noticed is a bunch of people, probably thinking if they should move on or go back. There is just too many people. And, again, it is fucking Monday! On your right, there is a line. People waiting for something cause….why not? We decide to skip that line and go up to first floor.

Kids enjoy fake kid rooms equipped with all the Scandinavian goodies (wooden trains, random coloured things that look like toys and small chairs and tables) for a couple of minutes and we continue to living room area.

This is where we stumble upon first bodies and bunch of tired people. Some of them look like they wont make it to Bedroom area, so they opted for a quick nap on comfortable sofas. Some of them look like they do not belong here. Some of them just want to buy a thing or two to take back home and frame them, hang them up on a wall. As a piece of contemporary art.

We realised that we are still in the busiest part so we decide to move forward into cooler areas, Textiles and Bathroom showrooms.

Small bathrooms would be a perfect fit for a Hobbit house. Looks like everyone is trying to avoid these as a plague, they don’t want to be seen here. Finally the air is cooler. We stumbled upon abandoned trolley and packed already tired kinds inside.

There are tons of products and I am sure you can always find something you really don’t need but it looks “cool” and usable so you buy it, after all it is ”cheap”.

We took some “wow, look at this” products and we proceed through Lighting area to cashier. Long lines of plebs waiting to pay for their IKEA souvenirs such as blue IKEA bag and IKEa shower squeegee

Right after you pass the cashier, there is a store with Scandinavian overpriced jam, fish products, Scandinavian cookies and other random food product you really don’t need in your life.

On your left there is a restaurant but kids are already nervous and we are heading toward exit.

Shit we bought

We bought a couple of product. Some of them we actually needed and some of them belong to “wow, look at this, what is this, how do you use it, what can we do with it, should we buy it” category.

Total, around 50 Euros.

Things we didn’t pay

IKEA is like Disneyland. If you ever went to Disneyland you probably noticed that you can take anything you want from their stores and go outside. There are no those things that beep at the exit if you try to steal something. It is same in IKEA. They probably earn so much on each product that they don’t wanna bother installing anti-shoplifting devices. When we paid for our stuff we noticed that kids are playing with MÅLA. At this point we didn’t want to bother going back telling cashier how we didn’t pay for it.

Checklist for next time

1. Don’t go on Monday

2. Try their food

3. Bring big backpack and fill it with random products, don’t pay for it at the exit cause no one will check.

4. Take elderly person (80+ years, with cane if possible) with us.

5. Try more beds and sofas

6. Buy big blue IKEA bag

These days, my Macbook is on it’s last legs. I remember when I thought I was a ‘creative type.’ I thought I was an artisan meme crafter. I thought that a computer would ‘give me freedom’ to create the type of content that could truly resonate with ‘ppl just like me.’

“These days, I mainly just use my phone/tablet to click on retail-blasted emails offering ‘today only’ sales at my favorite Contemporary Conformist retailers.’
– a Contemporary Conformist.

Anyways, I might as well just become a pure Contemporary Conformist and chambray out my Macbook. Just go full-CC and try to ‘find happiness.’

My Macbook won’t last much longer. I remember when my iBook died. I remember when my black Macbook died. For some reason, I am just waiting for it to ‘die.’ I am not ‘backing up shit.’ I am losing everything that isn’t ‘already in the cloud.’ I am connected to nothing. I own nothing [via digitally].

Roll me up in a chambray blanket
tell me that I’ll live forever
Eternally contemporarily Conforming////

I need an Edison lightbulb lantern to light my future.

WTF is Chambray?

I always wonder what the difference between chambray and denim is. One time I was about to buy a denim button down, but I don’t think it was ‘me’ because I don’t ‘pimp out’ vintage cars or something or have a dad_beard.

I guess ‘chambray’ is lighter–a better look for me back when I was Contemporarily conforming in order to deal with post-hipsterdom while only having ‘affluent brands’ at the mall to sculpt a new look that ‘made me attractive’ to ContempConform slutz.

From what I understand, chambray is ‘lighter’ than denim. It is like ‘pussy denim.’ Something that rests softly on your shoulders. It pairs perfectly with a statement necklace, a pop of color, or white shorts/pants that ‘exude casual pseudo-affluence.’

A chambray is a plain weave fabric woven with a colored yarn in the warp and a white yarn in the weft. Like chambray, denim is made with a colored yarn in the warp and white in the weft, but is woven in a twill construction. The chambray’s warp and weft threads will alternate one over the other, while denim’s warp thread will go over two threads in the weft before going under one. Typically, you will notice a lighter color to the underside of a denim fabric, whereas the underside of chambray will appear much more similar to its face side.

Chambray will make you appear as ‘tasteful’ if you are a contemporary conformist. You are taking a break from plaid. You are taking a break from gingham. You are wearing jeans and chambray with a leather good belt/shoes. You are all-natural. Chambray is from the earth [via CC_fabricated_naturalist vibes].

Chambray looks great against brick walls.
Chambray looks great in fields.
Chambray looks good in the city.
Chambray looks great in the woods.
Chambray looks great on day-trip-wave vacations to ‘small towns’ that produce a local crop.
Chambray is light.
Chambray is free.

‘Real men’ who work on the farm need the durability of denim.
Contemporary Conformists wear chambray since all they do is go to coffee shops, pose against exposed brick, and sip on artisanal cocktails.

You are 100% a contemporary conformist if you ‘proudly’ wear a chambray button down. Whether you are a bro with some shorts or a girl with a big chambray button-down and some leggings, if you take pride in chambray, you are a Contemporary Conformist.

Do you ever just want to mate with some1 and inject some chambray DNA in2 ur seed?

Chambray is post-OldNavy/Gap-waves for families.
Chambray is not denim.
Chambray is Chambray.

Only ‘true artisans’ can wear denim shirts. Buff bros who craft shit with hot metal tools. They grow beards and get ‘artful’ tattoos [via leather goods sleeve tat bro]

I just want to conform.
Contemporarily.
Looking like I belong in this pussy ass world.

I just want a GF who looks ‘proud’ in her affordable contemporary conformist look.

She will have me take a photo of her
which she will post to instagram
Her lame friends will ‘love her look’
ask her which Contemporary Conformist store(s) she assembled
her chambray look from

You look like you are straight out of the catalog in Chambray.

Should I denim or Chambray?

If you own a chambray shirt, are you 100% certified contemporary conformist?
Would u rather use chambray or denim as toilet paper?
Why are CC’s so ‘at home’ in their button down chambray shirt?

I have been thinking a lot about what has sprouted from the indie hipster aesthetic of yesteryear. Back when it was all about ‘making fun of ppl with moustaches’ who ‘wore skinny jeans.’

The Contemporary Conformist.

I think the latest rationalized as ‘pure’ consumer mindset iscontemporary conformity. The contemporary conformist has ‘urban lust’ for an unsubstantiated version of day-to-day life in urban environments. However, that urban lust is balanced with a ‘rural naturalism’ that attempts to utilize an arbitrary perception of farm-2-table vibes (when you’ve only ever sat at the table in some try-too-hard-contemporary-wave designed restaurant).

The Contemporary Conformist believes that they are ‘progressive’, while they are actually only ‘of the times’ [via contemporary]. Our times are currently a retro-vintage-urban-modern-artisanal lusting time. The Contemporary Conformist uses his/her consumer identity to rationalize post-youth-culture existence, transitioning to quirky take a ‘well-adjusted, healthy, and decently earning’ couple.

The Contemporary Conformist ‘Look’

The Contemporary Conformist is meant to dress as though they ‘fit in’ against the contemporary conformist design aesthetic. Wood. ‘Weathered.’ Exposed Brick. Zany Light Fixtures. Hints of Metal. Plants (but not generic flowers).

Plaid. Gingham. Denim. ‘Chambray.’ Shirts with subtle stripes.
Contemporary Conformists wear loud neutrals to try to shock you with their naturalism.

The contemporary conformist ‘pays’ to look like they are not trying. Their look attempts to cloak dependence on technology, low-paid service industries, and sweatshoppes to make things affordable 4 every1.

The Contemporary Conformist attempts to convince themselves that they aren’t falling for arbitrary/uninformed youth culture trends. Instead, the contemporary conformist ‘dresses the part’ of a lifestyle that they have earned with middle-class jobs.

The Contemporary Conformist fashion look is meant to be a preparation for the Contemporary Conformist home purchase, where the Contemporary Conformist couple uses their ‘design aesthetic’ to create a ‘natural’ urban vintage rural look using their ‘great taste’ that is completely in line with contemporary conformism.

Understanding the interior/exterior design aesthetic that the Contemporary Conformist Desires

There is a contemporary conformist design aesthetic that has taken over all ‘trendy’ restaurants designed in the past ~5 years. The contemporary conformist design aesthetic is meant to provide a ‘welcoming’/’curated’ experience to those who want to ‘break free’ from the unnatural aesthetic of chain/branded experiences.

By accumulating ‘more experiences’ in contemporary conformist spaces, the contemporary conformist human believes that have experienced ‘something you can’t pay for’, even though you paid higher prices than you would have at a scaled international chain.

While mason jars are now ‘too Pinterest basic bitch wave’, the contemporary conformist tries to live a life with a visual aesthetic that transcends the Pinterest aesthetic.

Reaction Against Suburbia

Suburbia is not urban.
Suburbia is not industrial.
Suburbia is not rural.
Suburbia is not natural.
Exposed brick is ‘too expensive’ of a building material for suburbia.
Understanding this is the gateway to being a contemporary conformist.
Rage, Rage against the expansion of suburbia [even though suburbia is probz pretty natural [via cheapness]]

The Contemporary Conformist wants to distance themselves from a ‘suburban existence.’ This requires investing in ‘nicer’ clothes than the Old Navy/Ross shit meant to cover the tummies of fatties.

The Contemporary Conformist wants to look so natural/urban that they seem like the alien in a frozen yogurt shoppe.

The contemporary conformist attire attempts to rationalize denim as an ‘upscale casual’ look.

The contemporary conformist finds ‘meaning’ in following recipes that use ingredients that they weren’t ‘fed’ as a kid. They have rationalized this ‘culinary’ journey as meaningful.

The contemporary conformist looks to create a ‘permanent instagram filter’ in their lives/personal space where #NoFilter is necessary. Instead, there is always a source of ‘natural’ light that is meant to properly illuminate every space/photo opportunity.

A picture of a plate.
A picture with your significant other.
This is different than youth culture broadcasting. It is tasteful, deliberate, and shows ‘a life that you are living’, not a culture that you are ‘conforming to.’

Let’s go to a bakery.

The contemporary conformist values non-traditional pastries more than the desserts of American youth. Macarons provide a highly Instagrammably experience that has ‘pops of color’ against the contemporary conformist backdrop.

The Contemporary Conformist Consumer Identity

The contemporary conformist is dependent upon technology to stay up to date with contemporary conformist trends. This means staying up to date on restaurants, critically acclaimed TV shows, and ‘important topics’ covered in netstream thinkpieces.

The contemporary conformist pretends to desire ‘a walkable way of life’ where every one is ‘dressed well’ to ‘go to brunch’ the night after ‘drinking cocktails’ that are more than just spirit+low-cost mixer from a soda gun.

The contemporary conformist believes that he/she is living a ‘natural life,’ and their entire life/personal brand/personality is a natural reaction to an over-branded childhood.
The contemporary conformist values ‘locally sourced’ products and attempts to stay away from global brands.
The contemporary conformist prefers to purchase clothes from global brands who ‘do pop-up lines’ with smaller brands that appear to be ‘authentic.’

The contemporary conformist attempts to exude wealth.
The contemporary conformist is a pseudo-affluent lifestyle where you attempt to rationalize ‘taste’ as your ticket to luxury. However, all the contemporary conformist is doing is conforming to a fleeting contemporary aesthetic/life/vibe/paradigm/consumer-existence.

Contemporary Conformist is Not Normcore

Normcore is not contemporary conformist. Normcore is a low-price vintage look. Normcore is forgettable. Normcore is not contemporary. Normcore is not conforming–it is a nostalgically driven fashion aesthetic.
Contemporary Conformists find comfort in brands like J.Crew, MadeWell, Anthropologie, and other affordable yuppie tastemakers.
Contemporary Conformists attempt to rationalize their middle class existences.
Contemporary Conformists attempt to ‘distance themselves’ from ‘youth culture’ despite still being dependent upon social sharing, community social experiences like music festivals, and a human desire to ‘be outdoors in functional public space.’
Contemporary Conformists believe that ‘craft’ coffee/beer/mixology drinks/mixed greens.

Contemporary Conformists Want to be upper class, but they can’t, so all they can do are simulate pseudo-upper-class experiences and rationalize how they ‘fit in.’
The contemporary conformist rationalizes their educational experiences as having created a ‘well-rounded’ global view of the world, despite being as ‘narrow-minded’ as traditional conservative ruralites.

The Contemporary Conformist is grounded in nothing. They have no sense of the world. They are not traveled. They do not actually ‘know’ cuisine. They only have a collection of consumer experiences.

The process of assembling a contemporary conformist lifestyle is the same as assembling a mainstream lifestyle. However, the mainstream lifestyle is ‘more honest’, which the contemporary conformist is contrived–meant to ‘conform’ to an unnatural contemporary aesthetic.

Dear Lord,
Please free me from my
Contemporary Conformist Leanings/Practices
Set me free.
Dear god, Set Me Free.

Do u know Contemporary Conformists?
WTF does contemporary mean?
What’s the diff between modern and contemporary yall?
Is the ‘contemporary conformist’ aesthetic already becoming ‘the mainstream’ design aesthetic?
What else do Contemporary Conformists do/practice/buy/think?
Are many post-hipsters contemporary conformists?
Can u be urban/industrial/natural all at the same time?

Which do u h8 more: exposed brick, Edison Light bulbz, zany light fixtures, damask wallpaper, or weathered wood?

Does ‘the web’ look too contemporary conformist now?
How has Instagram impacted the contemporary conformist aesthetic?
Don’t u srsly h8 contemporary conformists and how they think they are soo0o pure?
Are ‘wedding announcements’ / photos of food on square plates the ultimate representation of the contemporary conformist visual aesthetic?
Are ContempConfies worse than mainstreamers/indies/EDMers/tweens?
Why does Contemporary Conformism exist?

All humans need media 2 feel ‘connected 2 a world.’

That world is defined by their media stream. Words, pictures, and videos that describe ‘their world.’

Do u evr take a step back and ask urself, “Who am I and what do I believe in? [via the crap I read while I am wasting time?]”

For a while I thought that ‘the internet’ was a ‘new medium’ that would ‘change media’ and materially alter ‘the universal message.’ Somehow a ‘cultural or existential experience’ could be heightened solely by the internet as a medium. I have learned that media cannot be n e thing more than just media, no matter the medium.

The goal of all media may or may not be to become ‘mainstream media’ [via scalability].

If the media is supposed 2 be how I construct my perception of ‘the world that matters,’ I feel like there is ‘less of me’ 2 be found in the media that I attempt 2 consume on the internet.

Scalable internet media takes me 2 a zone that makes me feel like nothing matters less than evr.

I am lost. Help me. I keep clicking on pages hoping 2 find something ‘more.’

It has all been engineered 2 trick me in2 thinking I will find ‘something.’ Truth, enrichment, empathy, ‘the next big thing’, self-awareness, or even more. The internet branded itself as a place 4 ‘independent voices’ 2 be heard, 2 reach ‘real ppl’, and then empower those ‘real ppl’ 2 experience ‘freedom’ [via ‘content creation & curation.’

It is all meaningless.

I participated in the cultural event (in person, on live television, on a streaming device). I returned home 2 find a page on the internet that shared the same experience as me. I still feel alone.

There is nothing there.

There are words, pictures, videos. There are buttons 2 share.

But I feel like I can’t be found.
I cannot be found on the internet.
I can no longer find myself on the internet.

Does online media exist 2 supplement culture?

If culture is the arbitrary practice of celebrating the set of circumstances that I can’t escape, does media actually help me cope with existence?
Does the media I consume truly give me what I need 2 feel like ‘a part of the world’?
Or does media exist 2 make me feel like a world is happening regardless of my existence?
Does media make me feel alive?
Does media make me feel like ‘there is a world worth making better’?
Do the ‘opinions’ that I consume actually make me feel cnnctd 2 something?

We r trapped in a medium where all we can do is click.

‘I still haven’t found what I’m clicking 4.’ -Bono

All media is traditional.

For the past decade, my perception of the world was constructed on the importance of ‘nontraditional media.’ The idea that the internet was ‘disrupting’ traditional media with independent content creators was ‘played up’ 2 make ‘the internet’ seem more valuable than it rlly was.

New media just means
a new medium
upon which 2 sell advertising.

Every ‘popular’ online media company is just trying to ‘transition into a much more lucrative traditional medium’ or reach the outliers of Facebook with lamestream ass content. The voice of the internet is tolerant and neutered, built to tastefully react 2 ‘backlashes.’

Like all other elements of life/society
‘The crap we read’ is part of a larger scalable business model
Guided by arbitrary values created by ‘industry leaders’
In an attempt 2 oppress and marginalize users/readers/humans
Converting them into monetizable metrics

The internet was just an opportunity 2 invent ‘new metrix’ that allegedy demonstrate ‘reach’ and ‘value.’

Independent content creators are trapped on mediums that are monetized by others.
‘Embracing a new medium’ like Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, ‘blogs’, ‘the internet’, Vine, miscellaneous apps of ‘expression’
are all just 2 trap u into believing ur message has an important context.

Popular online media has reached a point where ‘there is no target audience.’

Internet media singularity is here.

The ‘editorial’ goal of every ‘large website’ is to create landing pages for news, tutorials, and trends. The web is an infinite abyss of meaninglessness, and ‘media outlets’ all have meaningless content that they have organized to appear as having ‘authority.’ These landing pages are supposed to be general, to-the-point, and inoffensive. The voice on the page does not matter, it just has to reasonably match trendworthy subject matter. All you are doing is creating an explanatory page that is meant to be stumbled upon, usually with a piece of embedded media that does most of the ‘communicating.’

Once a website achieves scale, there is no point in being the expert in a niche. Utilize your ‘reach’ 2 ‘inform and empower’ new audiences. Tell urself u r ‘changing the world.’

Every website exists 2 attract internet passerby’s.
Give us a few clixxx.
Promise you will be aware of ‘what is happening’ ‘in the world.’

Generalism this is ‘the point of media’, no matter the medium.

Continue 2 build the perception of influence.
Continue 2 build the perception of reach [dependent on the current medium].
Continue 2 build the perception of ‘cultural importance’ of a message.
Continue 2 build the perception of scale.
Continue 2 be as #sharable as possible.
Continue 2 scale.

What are the goals of a media company?

You probably follow a media company on Facebook and Twitter.

The media company publishes page after page of content.

Their goal is to get in front of new readers by delivering ‘viral content’ or by delivering ‘trend-driven’ content.

By being at the top/featured spot of Google, Twitter, and Facebook, the media companies are able to get ‘what actually matters: unique visitors’ aka ‘new randomz.’

There are no more ‘niche interests.’
There is no more authority.
There are no more original voices.
There is just content.
There is lots & lots of content.

‘I swear we r different bc the ppl that come to our page engage with the content in a way that matters. The readership is Toatz authentic. The readership rlly identifies with the banner ads and sponsored content that we r selling u. Readerz come back bc they know they won’t miss any element of culture, history, news, or human life when they visit our site.’
-a media company selling ads to some Fortune 500 company that ultimately just has to ‘spend their marketing budget’

Facebook and Twitter are the current ‘perceived’ social sharing mechanisms.

However, a larger goal of large-scale content farms is Google traffic. ‘Editorial’ sites that gain domain authority must instead think in terms of Yahoo-Answers type of content, instead of just being a slave to the trend-cycle. There is way 2 much competition 4 trendpages. Instead, ‘editorializing’ popular topics is the long term goal of former ‘trend dependent.’

There are no trends.
There is no culture.
Real life is not happening.
No1 is interested in anything.
The internet is not a place for ‘the educated middle class’ 2 find a ‘unique take’ on ‘high-end content’ found thru new mediums like ‘Law and Order Episode podcasting’ [via Serial poddcast] or TV shows that u can only ‘stream’ from a ‘lil stick that u wiggle in2 ur HDMI hole.’

With strong titles & URLs, most large-scale content farms are mainly looking to be the #1 Google results in the medium-to-long term queries

Online Media attempts to brand itself as ‘being connected 2 the human experience’ in a personal way.

Art cannot be critiqued or ‘showcased’ in the context of a scalable media.
The purpose of creating widely-read content overshadows any message or ‘original voice.’
The media outlet is dependent upon the virality of the topic in order to promote their own scalable media mission.
The media outlet only exists 2 create and facilitate trendcycles.
Scalable media only exists to ‘piggyback’ popular trends or participate in media cycles as symbiotic marketing. An album release, a season premiere of a television show, or a movie are not approached as ‘art’ within the scalable media.

Online media’s only purpose is 2 turn every artist in2 a content who creates content 4 free.
A band must not only create their own content (for the sake of commerce), they must engage in participatory content-sharing mechanisms that (allegedly) ‘help’ both brands.
Moviestars must ‘lipsynch’ with James Fallon in order 2 create a trending moment in the television & internet mediums.

“Sharing will set u free.”
-Internet Auschwitz

‘Sharing’ scalable media content is the modern form of middle class oppression/slavery.

Will a new generation of independent content creators rise on the internet?
Independent content creators are often applauded when a ‘new medium’ emerges because they simply ‘use the medium.’ Remember when newspapers used 2 write stories like, “Area man has blog.” “Area teen uses Youtube to get people to watch.” etc.

Internet media companies get value from ‘newness’, the promise that users will continue to utilize this medium, and the ‘reach’ is valuable. The participation of a ‘rising demographic’ in a new medium’ is ‘attractive’ because these new ‘eyeballs’ are allegedly ‘the most valuable eyeballs in the world.’

The controller of the medium is ultimately the controller of the scalable mechanism. Because they are in control, they stand 2 profit the most. They control the media business model, the media companies can only ‘play by their rules’ in order to facilitate the ‘achievement’ of favorable metrics.

The medium eventually dies. The popular message was never that unique, and the medium of expression always makes us remember ‘how we were obsessed with ourselvez.’

I have no solutions nor do I think things will change (nor do they need 2).
As a member of the lower/middle class, I believe this is ‘just the way every industry works.’

I think there are authentic content creators out there, but they are largely marginalized, obsessed, distracted, and biased by the drive 2 scale for the sake of scaling. I am inspired and envious by those ppl who can create something beautiful without bias. Without obsession over the drive to scale within a popular medium.

Being a content creator means either ‘scaling urself’ or ‘enslaving urself’ as the member of a workforce under a larger medium of scale. Every1 is just trying 2 make a living while the ‘controllers of the medium’ r the ones ‘getting rich’ as the lamestream masses pour their perceived individuality into the cloud [via modern slavery].

Do ppl even want 2 write/create 4 the web, or is that some other weird skill where you should just learn how to embed a video/image and write a non-offensive, non-memorable paragraph right below it?

The Final Phase of Online Media Scalability.
The online outlets that were once supposed 2 b 4 ‘the educated middle class’ have now realized that there are way more poors ‘chillin on mobile phones, clicking on shared viral bits.’ Instead of creating a stream of content that actually relays ‘the important things going on in the world’ or the particular niche that the website wants to cover, the drive to ‘cover’ the widest web_bits is more clickable [via profitable].

I do feel alone and disoriented because of my misguided perception of the internet as a ‘place of salvation’ for ppl who wanted to see the world differently than lamestreamers who watch the generic interpretation of ‘the news’ on television/lamestream websites.

What does this mishmash of online content actually do 2 enhance our existences? Particularly those of us that require an alternative stream in order 2 feel connected 2 something ‘more real’ than the inconsequential Jimmy Fallon/Kimmel going viral memes.

You only ever existed 2 be marginalized, anyways.
-a Twitter that tweets ‘sad’/ironic things

It is apparently a bad thing that newspapers are dying bc it means ‘the poors’ basically don’t have any grounded sense of the world available to them in a medium that they can consume with ease. As the poors move towards mobile, their only sense of the world will come from socially shared news.

This basically means that the poors and ghettos will not actually have a sense of ‘local news’ or a context. Instead, they are lost in a world of ‘news’ that is just a compilation of viral memes and ghetto people memes.

I do not think ‘online media’ is evil, or ‘ruining something pure.’
It is just an unnecessary mechanism 4 artists, events, and anything else that needs to be ‘promoted.’ The online media outlet only exists 2 scale itself, not to be a ‘curator’ of other things that deserve 2 scale in2 niche audiences.

Online media isn’t actually ‘culturally relevant’, it is more like ppl putting billboards along busy expressways on the information super highway. Some sites have more billboards [individual pages that ppl land on] than others. The more billboards u can put up, the better. Doesn’t actually matter what type of content is on there.

Most of the content on the biggest sites does not cultivate value from ‘cultural capital’ from a dedicated ‘readership.’ All that matters is the value of the audience size 2 advertisers. Dependence on empty analytics prove that there is no more real ‘influence.’

THE ONLINE INFLUENCER IS DEAD.

Do u evr have those days where u just want 2 be a ‘writer’ but then u realize all u can rlly do is pump meaningless noise into an overcrowded medium that is just trying 2 capture information/analytix to justify their ‘reach’ despite having no actual reach/influence with real ppl?

The websites that are ‘huge’ will continue 2 exist, and get bigger. They will continue to be omnipresent on ‘the hottest social network’ as they change. They will continue 2 appeal to the broadest segments of human beings, despite being ‘early adopters’ on the internet-medium-for-media.

Large scale online media companies exist 2 ‘dumb down’ media, reaching the cultural outliers who have access to the most basic technological devices and ability to understand ‘complex’ themes about being trapped in society.

This message (and the pattern of behavior) mainly exists 2 keep us complacent.
Innovative content creators will no longer look 2 ‘publish content’ [via ‘writing’] for the biggest sites because they know their voice is ‘inconsequential’ and they are just contributing content.

Online media is just a massive remarketing project.
U r being #remarketed 2 believe a certain brand is more important than it is.
Being #remarketed 2 believe that you are being ‘organically influenced.’

All online media is scalable media.
The scalable media message is meant to reduce to the message to the voice of the dumbest audience.

Give up ur self-perception as an ‘early adopter’ of internet media consumer.

As ‘educated middle class’, we have had the opportunity to wade in the stream of memes. We get 2 ‘celebrate nostalgia’, ‘take quizzes’, and share memes/content that we connect to our ‘cultural narrative.’ We get 2 ‘react’ 2 ‘the cultural backlash of the month’ and read #thinkpieces abt them.

During a phase of ur life, aggregating information from internet media mattered. Then u became a ‘real person’ that had ‘real problems’ like kids, mortgages, and other constraints. ‘Culture’ mattered less, and there was no need to perceive urself as an active participant with narrative-driven media.

What does it all mean?

Where do U fit as a ‘reader’ between the content and the ppl who pay the ppl who produce the content?

R u supporting ‘independent creators’ by enslaving them on media websites?

Where r u on the employment pyramid?

Does online media exist 2 supplement culture?

Or does it exist 2 exploit culture by marginalizing the minutiae of day2day life?

Do u even feel alive?

Do u read n e words on the internet that are attempting 2 be more meaningful than anything else?

Or do u feel like ur dead on the inside when u chill on the internet?

Do u ever wish u were just an uneducated poor, interpreting ‘the world’ thru promoted coverage on their mobile device?

The media I consume makes me feel alone.

Like I am not alive.

Like my ideas, ambitions, hopes & dreams do not matter.

Like artists are just trying 2 be trends within the scalable media economy.

Like anything I want 2 accomplish just needs to be ‘validated’ as a ‘trend’ in the scalable economy.

The media that allegedly ‘constructs my world’

makes me feel like I am disconnected from a world that I do not care abt.

Hi there Internet Surfer. Long time no name and shame

It is 10:15 PM here.

Kids went sleeping. We watched Zootopia on HBO. Great stuff.

Fifteen minutes ago I got mail from GoDaddy. This is what they said:

Not long ago, one or more of the domains you searched for showed as unavailable. We’ve just learned that the status has changed to “available” for the following domain(s)*:

No, I wont tell you right now which domain is available (I registered it, so no, it is not available now). I did this domain search some 5-6 months ago. Never before GoDaddy sent this kind of Email. And never before I wanted one domain so much. And I got it for peanuts. For registration fee.

It is completely irrelevant domain for majority. It is a small piece of internet history. At least in my eyes.

Over the next couple of weeks I might re-post some of the articles on my site here.

Why? Because these are some of the best pieces I saw online. Not your ordinary blog post that is written “for both readers and Search Engines”.

And besides sitting in archive.org servers I would like these to see light.

If original author find this unacceptable he can contact me directly and I will remove them from site.

Till then.
